A Letter about the

Living Library Project

From: Claire Lagosha

Subject: Living Library

 Hi all,

Thank you for being part of this amazing program. Now that we are so close to our program, I would like to fill you in on how it will be set up on the day/s:

* a section of Brisbane Square Library will be set aside as Brisbane's Living Library - it is on Level 1.  Just go up the escalator and turn right and you will see the Living Library.

*  a library catalogue will be on display boards in the area where readers can select from the books available and take a card  for the particular book and take it to the booking table  which is near to the catalogue

*   Each catalogue entry will have a booking sheet beside it where it is registered when the times are booked so that readers can see this.   The entries will be numbered in alphabetical order by title to assist with identification and management.

*   The living book and the reader will then meet each other at the booked time and go to a table to talk for 30 min.   Please make sure that it is only 30mins or less otherwise some readers will be disappointed

*  There will be a time set aside for each book to have lunch which will be in the community Meeting Room on the ground floor.

* There will be a number of staff around to assist with the management and the needs of living books and readers.

*  We will also have a security guard for the day to ensure it all goes well.

*   There are no prebooking - readers must come in.  Bookings are available from 10am to 2pm.

*  There will be two books available for readers - one to record comments and the other to list if they would like information about future Living Library events.

I have attached a DL brochure of the program which you are welcome to send on.   I have also attached "Hints for Books" for those who have not received a copy of this.

Also, for anyone driving in to the city, please park at King George Square Carpark which is accessed from Adelaide St - I will be able to give you a voucher to get out of the carpark at no cost to you.

I am looking forward to seeing everyone on the day and to having a successful program.  Please contact me if you have any questions or need any more information.

Kind regards,

Claire
