Interesting
It is interesting how everything seems to eventuate at the same time! We have submitted a submission to the Australian Human Rights and Equal Opportunities Commission concerning, Legislation, Medical, Welfare and Future, concerning the Transsexual Community. At the same time we have received a letter from the Federal Attorney-General, The Honourable Philip Ruddock MP in response to my letter of September 2006. I have sent him a copy of our submission to the HREOC I have an appointment with the New Zealand Human Rights Commission when there at the end of May 2007. Have also received interesting items from Canada, the UK and Mianne Bagger’s web site! I feel that this, on top of the Draft Report from the UK Royal College of Psychiatrists, and the Draft Report on Submissions from the New Zealand Human Rights Commission, makes for a very interesting period. Also add to this the two in New Zealand who have received Court Orders recognising them in their preferred gender of female and it is all extremely interesting. Let’ hope that this is the start, and that it will continue in the same vein! Kathy Anne Noble 02/05/2007 |
