THE END OF ANOTHER FINANCIAL YEAR IS UPON US

The end of another financial year is upon us!
I feel that much has been achieved, with more to come. I have worked with AHRC, the Inner City Legal Centre, made contact with GLBT National Health and Care. I have stood down from the QAHC and Open Doors Boards, due to time and health.
I have just returned from the Agender conference in Wellington, and have spoken to people there about our problems concerning being FORCED to divorce in order to amend our birth certificate. I have taken this up with the Federal A-G and have followed up on his last letter for further clarification. I have been informed that there is no law in QLD that can force anyone to divorce. I have also been told that there is no such law in the USA. I believe this to be so World wide. Please see our web site under Advocacy, talk to Agender New Zealand.
I have just written to Nicola Roxon, the Federal Health Minister concerning the health care card and how it could cause us problems. I will let you know what the answers are.
I am continuing meetings in June, which are taking me to Sydney for interviews with AHRC, Inner City Legal Centre, GLBT National and Seahorse.
I have been able to find someone to open and update our web site, be it is at a cost, but needs must.
Income to Changeling Aspects is mainly through a very few who pay subscriptions*, and is mainly derived from what I earn via lectures. That is the extent of our income, which is used to run the Changeling Aspects web site, phone calls, post and other overheads! I would point out that I still pay much from my own pocket!
We work hard for you, but receive very little support or thanks for what we do! At present we have the final outcome of the AHRC Report and can only hope that we can derive some meaningful outcome from this, on problems relating to law, change of documentation for those born here or off shore, as well as what can be done for those who wish to stay married. Now all covered in our web site under Articles!.
I am still trying to have us recognised in QLD via a Recognised Details Certificate (RDC) for those born off shore. I have been told yet again that a letter is being prepared. I hope that the new A-G is more forthcoming than the last. My interest in the young ones who feel they are in the wrong body, has led me to ask for a temporary RDC for them, so that they may enjoy some legal coverage, especially when presenting at school in their preferred gender.
There is much work still to be done in regard to these young people, as there is with regard to having all jurisdictions in Australia to use the same wording and law affecting the Trans community, so that we are able to understand exactly what is required of us in order to make it easier to amend our documentation.
I will issue notice of movement on any of these subjects as they come to hand.
