The beginning of October has been very interesting. We have received letters from the Passport Office (APO) concerning our queries, and they will be on site.
In regard to this, it has come to my notice that a very important decision has been granted by the Administrative Appeals Tribunal in regard to certain matters with concern as to if a Passport can be issued to what the APO considered to be a “Same Sex situation, even though the people involved were married, but the Transsexual person had not been granted an amended Birth Certificate by NSW, because of being still married” This decision will also be on site, as I have been given permission to use the outcome of the Tribunal’s decision. I have known the person concerned from when she worked at the Sydney Gender Centre, so I wish to thank Grace for allowing us to put this on our site. We feel this is a very important decision, and will hopefully help others in a similar circumstance.

I have also been informed that I have a meeting with the Queensland Premier’s Office on the 5th November 2007. As this is Guy Fawkes Day, I have promised not to take any gun powder along. I have also been given to understand that a letter will be forth coming from the Attorney-General’s Office concerning our quest for a Gender Recognition Certificate (GRC) for all those born off shore, and now residing in Queensland. I will keep you informed of what the contents, of that letter are.
I have also spent a week in Townville, staying with Erica and Joan who run Transbridge (see below). In that time I also met several of their members and enjoyed their company very much. I also met with a family who are facing some of the problems that we invariably face with our route through transition. I wish them well and hope that all goes well.
The Final draft report from the New Zealand Human Rights Council (HRC) has been released and queries were requested to be sent by the 23rd October 2007. This I have replied to and that too will be on site.
Lastly we have received the draft report finally from the American Psychology Association concerning Gender Identity Disorder (GID). Answers have been sent and now we await the final report.
Also attached is a paper from the Royal College of Psychiatry (RCP) in UK. It is from 2002, but is still very much up to date, as very little has altered in those 5 years. We are awaiting the final 2007 report from the RCP.
