Has the final report on Transsexual health and Welfare completed as yet?
I have an interest in this after talking with Dr Louise Newman about this area of concern, as well as having Trans issues placed on the curriculum. I understand that she is also interested in this report.

Dear Kathy
We had quite a long and extensive consultation on the draft standards of care document. I’m pleased to say that we had a large number of detailed responses. To ensure that everyone’s comments are properly taken into account, we arranged for someone from the College Research and Training Unit to carry out an analysis of the responses. This analysis is nearly complete, and the working group will be meeting again early in the New Year to consider the results, and to produce a final draft of the document. The work has taken longer than anticipated, but we feel it is worthwhile to spend the time necessary to produce a set of standards which are robust and have broad support. I suggest that you keep an eye on the College Web site from February onwards – we will publish the document there as soon as possible.

Dear Candace,
Thank you so much for that message and I will look forward to February 2008. I hope that it is really worth the wait, as I feel from the draft report that it certainly will be. I intend to use it in Australia and New Zealand to further our situation in both Counties.
Can you just send the details of the web site again please to make sure that I have the right one to watch? I have diarised February 2008 in readiness.
